A brief history of EACH
1989 Milton Children’s Hospice (CHER – Children’s Hospice for the Eastern Region) is opened by Diana Princess of Wales
1991 Quidenham Children’s Hospice opens
1998 Quidenham Children’s Hospice merges with CHER to become East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH)
1999 EACH opens a small hospice in Ipswich as part of a pilot project
2003 The EACH Education Centre at Milton is opened by Princess Anne
2006 The ‘Closer to Home’ model of care is introduced to give increased choice and improved access for families; care delivered by multi-disciplinary teams with the ability to work across locations, providing care where it is needed including the community, schools, hospitals and the hospices
2010 The Treehouse Appeal is launched to build a new hospice in Ipswich. EACH secures funding for a 24/7 specialist symptom management nursing service and to provide access to special medical expertise out-of-hours
2011 The Treehouse opens to deliver care and support to families
2012 HRH The Duchess of Cambridge becomes Royal Patron and officially opens The Treehouse
2014 The Nook Appeal is launched to build a new hospice in Norfolk
2017 The turf is cut at The Nook site as construction begins
2018 Milton opens its newly refurbished sensory room
2019 EACH marks 20 years since the opening of EACH in Ipswich and 30 years since the opening of the hospice in Milton
2019 EACH opens landmark 40th shop in Sheringham. The opening follows a period of sustained growth, with EACH having been recorded as the second-fastest growing retailer in a national survey of 71 charities in 2017/18
2019 EACH begins delivering care and support from The Nook in September and the hospice is formally opened by HRH The Duchess of Cambridge in November
